When the lights go out at McKinley High, the New Directions gang go unplugged.

With an acoustic guitar in hand, Sam gets to the heart of The Righteous Brothers classic “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’.”

Ryder keeps things somber with R.E.M’s “Everybody Hurts.” Plucking away, he soulfully assures the group things that “If you feel like you’re alone, know you’re not alone.”

The New Directions pick up the pace for their a cappella version of  “We Will Rock You” by Queen, which is filled with a whole lot of foot stomping and garbage can banging.

But its clearly their finger snapping rendition of Billy Joel’s “For The Longest Time” that shows off the glee club’s a capella skills. This one should be added to their Regionals playlist for sure.

Sue doesn’t work at the high school anymore and she’s pretty bitter about it. When she sees Roz (NeNe Leakes) taking over the Cheerios, she breaks out her best Miss Hannigan impression for “Little Girls” from Annie.  Jane Lynch, who plays Sue, is actually gearing up for a stint in the Broadway musical this summer, so fans should think of her performance as a dress rehearsal for her upcoming stage debut.

Meanwhile in New York, Isabelle Wright (Sarah Jessica Parker) asks Kurt to volunteer at the Vogue charity event. Of course, Rachel and Santana come along for the fun. And from the sound of “At The Ballet” from the 1975 musical, A Chorus Line, the gang sees the ballet as their special happy place.
